I find it is more interesting that we listen to the comments on the Spring Festivial Gala carried out on the eve of Year of the Tiger than appreciating the gala itself. From those comments, though some views sounds extreme, I learn a lot of Knowledge.Why? Because some critics are real learned scholars and you can learn logic from their articles, or some thing you want to express but hard to find right words to express. Among those critisms, I find one view that is valuable. In the comic sketch preformed by Zhao Benshan and his diciples, there is a line which caused a long time of acclamation. That is: See how pompous America people once were! Now they are borrowing my from us? On hearing of the line, I was uncomfortable but I couldn't express it concisely. Latterly, after I appreciated an article of a famous commentator, I knew that the mood of the actor and some audience should be called narrow-minded civilians of big country. Yes, America is the biggest victim of the financial crisis broke out two years ago. But we, as a weaker country should not gloat secretly. We should draw a lesson form America and shoulder responsiblity of preventing the internaional financial system from spiralling down. We ought know that even America is suffering a big blow, it is still a great country of which, a lots of merits of it should be learnt by us.This should be called open-minded civillant. The critism of the commentator enlightened me thoroughly.
When looking around the world, I find that not only some Chinese, but also some Aisan people are narrow-minded ones. For example, some scholars of South Korea announced that Chinese stolen the culture of Korea.The most radiculous view of them is that Spring Festivial roots from Korea. On November1361, at the end of Yuan Dynasty, Red scarf Army which was a peasant uprising army conquered the Kaesong, capital of Goryeo. Li Chenggui,a nobleman of Goryeo, leading a troop of 2000, unexpectedly defeated Red Scarf Army of Kaesong. Red Scarf Army retreated to Liaoyang city. Li Chenggui gradually grasped the troop of Goryeo and finally discrowned the King of Goryeo and crowned himself as a new king. From then on, Goryeo disappeared in the long river of history. In order to gain support of Ming dynasty, Li Chenggui assigned ambassadors to Ming court and present credentials to Zhu Yuanzhang, first emperor of Ming dynasty. Li Chenggui intended to name his country with one of two names,i.e.Korea or He Ning. He asked Zhu Yuanzhang to make a decision for him. Zhu Yuanzhang chose Korea, in Chinese, it is" 朝鲜 ". It means a country of facing sun and bright. This is the origin of the name of Korea.
Except Korea, the names of Japan and Vietnam were also named by Chinese too.
According to Hou han book, a chronice of latter part of Han dynasty, when Liu Xiu, Emperor Guang wu of Han Dynasty met the envoys of Dongying( one of the names of Japan ), he conferred the name of the king of Dongying as King Wo, Wo was the earliest name of Japan called by Chinese. It standed for ugly, short ,long winded and obedient. After Wu ze tian, only empress of China, stepped on the throne, she felt calling a neighbour as Wo was not suitable. So she renamed it as Japan, which means the place of sun in Chinese.
As far as the name of Vietynam is concerned, in history, Vietnam had been acknowledging allegiance to China in a rather long time. In the first year of Diao Lu period of Tang Dynasty, Chinese Government assigned Vietnam under the regulation of An Nan Du Hu Fu and the capital city was Hanoi. Till South Song dynasty, Vietynam begun to be called Annan Country. Latterly, Yuan Fuying, king of Annan country asked Qing Dynasty to confer it a name as Nan Yue.
